Pitka Bay is the idyllic weekend getaways in Stuart Lake. Pitka Bay has been rejuvenating body and soul since 1981. We are situated 10km from Fort St James on the shores of Stuart Lake, or ‘Nak’albun’ as the indigenous call it in the Carrier language & is one of BC’s largest natural lakes at 90 km long with over 270 km of shoreline.
Technology
This project is built using the latest in JavaScript technology. The frontend is built using ReactJS and NodeJS for the backend. The API layer connects to Quickbooks Accounting and Moneris as the payment gateway. Some of the data is synchronised to a local MongoDB storage for fast data processing, other data like the creation of invoices is instant.
How it works
Browse the facilities available between two dates, there is the options of booking the house, suites, apartment, RV and tent campsites. The customer will add the facility they want to book to the cart and they have the option to include extras like marina use, boat launch and trailer storage. The customer must register manually or use the Facebook / Google login to checkout and pay. Once the payment is cleared Quickbooks will generate an invoice and the online booking is confirmed. The customer can view all their booking in the My Account section.
The owner admin section has full manual booking options. They can add bookings to the calendar as and when customers call, email or walk in. The calendar shows all the facilities and customer names across the days booked making it easy to spot availability for further bookings.
Functionality
- Completely linked to Quickbooks Accounting
- Payments are made online for bookings via Moneris
- Once customers are registered, they can create new bookings easily and view their history
- Facilities search will only display available facilities for the dates selected
- Admin can add bookings
- Admin can view booking across a full calendar month
- Admin can change booking status and also cancel a booking
- Daily management emails are sent to the staff for cleaning shifts
